Personal designs
For my own personal design for the start up collection, I created this geometric cat, there is not much of a concept behind this design, apart from something that was a little bit of fun, it suits the start up theme perfectly as we were all asked to create a design suitable that represents us, and in effect give the consumer a little taste of our own individual styles and what can produce.

Repeat combining both line and halftone
After we had all created and given feedback on our own personal designs to be used in the first collection, we all used redbubble to mock up our own designs on to both cushions and tote bags.

When the collection is put together, it is obvious that we have all brought our own individual unique styles to the company as we all work in varied ways.

Our branding
For our branding, we all decided to come up with a few initial designs as to what we feel our branding should be.
The sketches I showed my group:
The hand rendered approach is definitely something the group as a whole is interesting in pursuing, therefore I did some very quick sketches to show the group possible solutions.

The chosen branding we went for, Ros developed this slightly from her original variations, the positioning of the 'handmade creativity' looks much more refined on the final. The hand rendered aesthetic works perfectly well for 'Jarmalade' whereas the sans serif typeface futura was used for the 'handmade creativity' which will allow us to use both these throughout or brand.
The hand rendered image and type fits well with our concept and the company, this style is much more suited to our business than something minimal.
To continue with the hand drawn, illustrative aesthetics we decided to have ourselves illustrated in the presentation, Ros created the characters in the same style as the branding for our company that she created.
Creating the presentation
Points we need to include in the presentation; (not in order)
- The brand and who we are
- What kind of business we are
- What we do
- Target audience, and who we are like
- Management/role changes
- Manifesto
- How we start/want to develop
- Finance
- Themes/designs/collections
- Products
- Online presence
- Manufacturing process
We will all discuss amongst ourselves what we will talk about within the presentation, the presentation must also include mock ups of our own designs to give a good idea in the pitch of what we will be producing. We know have all our correct information, including costs that we need in order to compile our findings and research into our presentation for our pitch.

My role throughout the presentation is to talk about;
Target audience
How to prepare collections
Target audience;
- Our target audience is going to be more of a demographic/psychological target audience with a certain mindset
- We will be targeting creative and artistic people
- We compare ourselves to companies such as IKEA, John Lewis and Etsy
How to prepare our collections;
- Researching into trends within the design world is important to start each project, this will be decided by the current Co. research managers
- Whoever has the most inventive ideas linked with the current theme will become the collection manager, they have the responsibility of doing more in depth research, contacting companies, budgeting and deadlines
- Finding the most appropriate cost and eco-friendly to work with is down to the production director, they need to ensure that these materials are durable and easy ro print
